Christmas 2014

With Christmas upon us thoughts turn to people we think about often but don't necessarily get the opportunity to catch up with. You may well be one of those. We wish you a merry Christmas and richest blessings into the new year. Our prayer is that you and your loved ones are well. Here is a snap shot of our year so far.

A birthday breakfast for Sue, netballing passion and test cricket at AO
St Michael's v Lobethal Slowdown
Outside of our work lives church and sport have taken up much of our time. Cooper (football and cricket) and Jaslyn (netball) have being playing in the local competitions. Highlights for them have been a netball grand final win, cricket lightening carnival win and SAPSASA cricket and football representation. Meanwhile Sue has donned the Lycra once more and is turning out for netball, injury permitting, in between umpiring commitments.
Dad's shed before the move
We are slowly starting to become more involved in church life through the junior youth group at Mt Barker. I have had the occasional guitar playing gig with the band and we are both on a couple of committees.
Last year my father had a severe stroke and is now in a nursing home in the Barossa with Mum renting a unit nearby. Earlier this year there were a couple of trips to Cleve to facilitate the moving of furniture and other required items. We now await the sale of the house so that Mum can settle down properly.

I continue at Unity College Junior School in Murray Bridge next year, teaching two days and spending the other three as Assistant Head (with my first WA Principal, Julian Denholm starting there next year). Sue continues in her role as Christian Studies officer for Lutheran Schools, Jaslyn remains at St Marks while Cooper heads off to Cornerstone to begin his secondary school years.
River Murray Sunrise
Holiday experiences have been had on the river (houseboating), Sue's parents 50th  wedding anniversary and Melbourne (football at Etihad and The 'G).
